Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali's HouseRasht
Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali's house (Persian: خانه میرزا کوچک خان جنگلی) in Rasht city is one of the unique historical attractions in Gilan province and Rasht city. This building is prominent in history and politics. It has great importance to recognize the domestic architecture of the region as well, thanks to the lack of historical houses in this region. This house belonged to Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali's father, which was sold to a new owner after his death. Yunes Ostad Sarai, known as Mirza Kouckak-Khan Jangali, was born in 1880 in Rasht city. Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali was one of the leaders of the Jungle Movement. His house was located in a neighborhood where other Illustrious people such as Houshang Ebtehaj, Mahmoud Namjoo.
Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali's house in Rasht is about 300 square meters in area and is built in the form of a two-story wooden building. Each of these floors has four rooms and a large porch, and like other old houses of the time, had a garden and stables. This house dates back to more than 200 years old and is now owned by the Rasht Municipality. Mirza Kouchak-Khan's house was renovated in 2002 by the Rasht Municipality and turned into a museum of documents and tools during the movement. They tried to preserve the traditional architectural structure of the house during this reconstruction. The entrance to the house used to be from Mostofi Mosque. The museum is opened to the public now. It houses historical documents, newspapers, photographs, clothing, and weapons on the first floor. The second floor is dedicated to the display of works donated to the museum.
Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali's house is located in one of the old streets of Rasht called Ostad Sarai Street and is located on the northern side of Rasht Municipality Square. If you visit the Rasht Municipality Square, you can walk toward Mirza's house in ten minutes. You need to pass Saadi Street or reach it from Moallem Square. Rasht Kolah Farangi Mansion, Rasht Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Haji Hamam (bath), Sabzeh-e-Maidan Park, and the mausoleum of Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali are only a few attractions that you can visit around Mirza Kouchak-Khan Jangali's house within easy walking distance.
