Tang-e (Gorge) Razianeh is one of the most spectacular geological phenomena in the west of Iran. This gorge is located in a wide and green valley where a river is flowing into. Tang-e Razianeh is located along Elam-Badreh Road, about 50 km far from the road.

Tang-e Razianeh covers an area of about 30hectares whose spiral path is three kilometers long and five meters wide. This gorge is located on the foothills of Kabir Kuh.

In addition to the natural and unique landscapes, Tang-e Razianeh embraces an ancient road passing through the foothills toward the village of Ganja which finally reaches the village of Pakal-e Garab and Chenarbashi area. Due to the existence of this historical road, many ancient monuments have been constructed in this area.

The gorge has been formed as the result of an earthquake and the consequent breaking of thick layers of lime. However, it cannot be the sole cause of creating such a phenomenon; many other factors such as erosion, difference in height, and consequently the emergence of steep slopes as well as the conditions of land heights, all together have led to the formation of the gorge on the surface of the earth.

The walls of the Tang-e Razianeh are made of lime with calcium carbonate compounds. The width of the gorge reaches up to one meter in some parts of the valley in which a narrow stream of water flows. Actually, it is considered insignificant in comparison to the 15-30-meter-high wall of the gorge. Although the flowing water inside the gorge is very little during summer days, it is full of water in winter and spring.

Due to its unique climate and pleasant weather, Tang-e Razianeh is the habitat of many plants and animals. Among them, we should mention different species of birds and reptiles. It indicates the various potentials of nature tourism, including bird watching in this area. In addition to these, Tang-e Razianeh is also considered a valuable region from the scientific aspect, always being of interest to researchers of geological sciences and the experts of underground waters.
