As the only ocean port in Iran, and in addition to its strategic and commercial position, Chabahar has many historical and natural attractions. Due to its temperate and evergreen climate, this beautiful and historic city is called Chabahar or "Chaharbahar” which means four springs.

One of the most important and attractive places in Chabahar is Tis village, which has many natural and historical monuments. Located in a foothill area and eight-kilometer northwest of Chabahar, The village dates back to the Achaemenid period. During Alexander's battle in Iran, historians called it "Tiz", which has been renamed Tis over time.

The Triple Caves is one of the fascinating attractions of Tis Village. The villagers call these caves "Baan Mesiti". In Baluchi, "Ban" means a righteous man and theist, and "Mesiti" means a temple that the name is related to the use of these caves in the past as a sanctuary.

Located on the slopes of the “Shahbazband” Mountains, these caves consist of a natural cave and two artificial and man-made caves that are situated at a height of twenty-five meters from the ground. The first is a natural cave that was created in a semicircular shape by human carving the wall of the mountain. Along its entrance, there is a tomb with white plaster walls. On the tomb, there is a cube-shaped building made of stone and plaster, with a small dome on it.

The second cave is on the right and a short distance from the first. This artificial cave has a short roof and some carvings can be seen in this cave. There is another artificial cave fifty meters away from the main cave and on its left side that its entrance is twenty meters wide. To get to the third cave you have to climb a few steps. In general, it appears that the collection of these caves and the platform that was built in front of the caves were used for religious ceremonies.

To visit these natural and ancient monuments, one can travel to the village of Tis via the Chabahar-Konarak road. In addition to the three caves, the village of Tis has other tourist attractions including the Botanical Garden, the Portuguese Castle, and the ancient cemetery. Besides, the women in the village produce and present some beautiful crafts such as weaving mats and needlework.
