After a nice walk, even in a sunny afternoon, through the cool breeze of tall trees in "Laleh Park" one could arrive at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, TMoCA.

Upon arrival, before entering the magnificent building and, if lucky enough, visiting part of the fascinating collection of artworks, there is a significant work of art in the outdoor garden of the museum no one should miss.

A chewed up sphere of bronze by great Italian sculptor, Arnaldo Pomodoro. This is, indeed, one of many, to be more accurate -according to Wikipedia- 14, throughout the world. Quoting the artist himself, "Sphere is an emblem of the earth, it is also a figure that can open up and grow, and in order to find out what can possibly be inside the sphere, I went deep into it. Essentially I was thinking of a bitten world map which entangles with a chewed up earth. When one crosses the surface of my sphere and slides down, after passing through the chewed up space, one can access the center of the sphere, wherein one can find a place to reside, which is a complicated situation about existence."

A few years back, under the provision of Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and with the help of private sector, this piece of art went through a process of dusting and restoration to re-acquire the authentic radiance it deserves.
