Firstly, the Abdol Azim holy shrine like all the other major shrines was just the central building contain the central part, but the other buildings constructed and linked to the main building during the years to finally reached to current form consisted of shrines, porch, mosque, courtyard and other relevant places.

This holy shrine beside two other monuments that are related to Imamzadeh Hamzeh (peace be upon him) and Imamzadeh Taher (peace be upon him) is one of the famous Iranian Shia shrines its antiquity dates back to the Ilkhanid, Safavid and Qajar era.

The first repair of this building was conducted by Mohammad, the son of Zeyd Daei Alavi.

Mosaic tiling and mirrors decorations, installation of painting doors, carved, inlaid works and repairing the shrine and establishing the long minarets as well as building facade in the main and other courtyards was done in Qajar era; however, Hazrate Abdolazim (peace be upon him) dome has been covered by golden copper clay and the long minarets established in 1270 Hijri.
