Kourosh Cineplex

One of the most equipped and important centers to which one can refer in order to follow the newest events in dramatic arts is Kourosh Cineplex. Located in the west of Tehran, the center is also known as Kourosh Cinema among people. Koroush cinema occupies the third to sixth floors of Kourosh Mal. Equipped with completely advanced cinema facilities, professional and experienced human resource, Koroush cinema has become a place for holding the main film festivals and other similar events like Honar & Tajrobeh (art and experience), since 2014. The center of Koroush have been established during a four-year process by the private investment. With the release of the movie City of Mice (2014), it was officially opened to the public. An area of 16000 square meter in Kourosh Cineplex is dedicated to fourteen cinema halls which have added 3100 more chairs to the capacity of cinema audience in the country. 

A lot of cultural, social and art events, festivals, seminars and workshops as well as the main exhibitions are held in this center. One of the most highlighted events is Fajr Film Festival. According to their website, this cinema complex was awarded as the best cinema hall during the 33rd Fajr Film Festival in 2014. It also succeeded to receive the prize of the most popular cinema hall during the 34th Fajr Film Festival in 2015. In addition, the Kourosh Cineplex broke the previous records in the daily movie ticket sales in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. It has also the experience of holding some foreign events like the South Korea Film Festival. 

Halls in the Kourosh Cineplex have been named after the names of the Lalehzar Street in Tehran including Gand Cinema, Khorshid No, Farous, Mayak, Nader, Alborz Cinema-Theatre, Metropol, Rex, Iran, Venus, Taban. They are used as movie theatre, theatre with the most modern audio and video equipment and high sound quality as well as VIP hall. There is also an equipped gallery proper for holding different kinds of exhibitions like paintings, sculpture, graphic design, photography, modern and contemporary art and also book exhibitions. At the same time as the opening of the Kourosh Cieplex, an exhibition of metal sculptures made of the metal waste was held in the vicinity of the events. It is possible for companies to distribute their teasers and advertise their products here. School students can also use the special offers of watching movies.

 The extra service including a variety of modern café shops and buffets along with restaurants and free internet access have been provided for cinema and theatre spectators in the Kourosh Cineplex. There is also a kindergarten in the third floor designed for full-time care of your kids. 

Kourosh Cineplex is placed along Shahid Hakim and Shahid Sattari highways, at the corner of the central Payambar street which are the main west-east and north-south routes of Tehran city. They are easily accessible with private car. The center’s services are offered every day from 11 a.m. to 23 p.m. and on holidays until 24. The closest subway station to the Kourosh Cineplex is Sadeqieh and from there you can take the taxis of Azad University Science and Research Branch in order to get off right in front of the door of the complex.
