Mahabad Dam Lake, which was completed and put into operation in 1968, is one of the most significant and spectacular tourist attractions in Mahabad county at the provincial level. It is the closest dam to the city in the country. Every year, many tourists from different parts of the country travel to Mahabad county, especially during holidays, to see the dam.
