Ghadeer Khumm is the name of a region in Saudi Arabia in the way of Mecca to Medina which was the place where prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him and his progeny) was obliged to proclaim an important message that denotes the importance of the message and announced Imam Ali (peace be upon him)as the deputy of him . There are some different in interpretation of Ghadeer Khumm hadithamong Shitte and Sunni. Eid-al-Ghadeer no only as a historical day but also as one of the Islamic ,religious holiday has been registered in Iran’s official holidays.
This day has spcial ceremonies and customs in different regions of Irancelebrating thisd ay by muslim increases the glory of it. Based on that Imam Ali is known as the caliphe of Sayyid all all Sayyid are the family of prophet so This Eid is known to Sayyid Eid.Visiting the Sadat(the plural form of Sayyid ,appease and help to the Sadat specially the poor Sadat are common customs among muslims in this day.
