Known as Shah Abbasi Caravansary, Farasfaj Caravansary is placed after five kilometers along the road of Touyserkan-Kangavar, next to the city of Farasfaj. Belonged to Safavid era, this construction used to be the resting place of travelers who were moving to the west of country and Iraq in order to trade, make a pilgrimage or entertain. The plan is based on the Iranian four-Iwan pattern with four round towers at its four corners and three semicircular towers in the middle of eastern, western and northern sides. Several chambers are arranged around the central yard and four stables on four sides behind the chambers. The main decoration style in the architecture of this building is brickwork Khofteh-Rasteh. The structure was registered in the list of Iran National Heritages on February 25, 1998. (No. 1970)
