The historical complex of Shemiran is placed next to the River of Qezel Ozun in Tarom county. In order to reach the complex, you need to take the road by the Sefid Rud Dam, starting from Manjil. The complex lacks a car route and people need two-wheel drive vehicles to get there. The complex is placed inside a valley which is in fact the cannel of basin of the dam. The water rises in rainy years so that some parts of the area get immersed by the water and the access road to some attractions gets cut off. The name of Shemiran has been repeatedly occurred in historical books. There was a wall around the city and a qanat in it through which they supply water. The castle is the center of Justanids state and according to Hamdallah Mustawfi, it was one of the occupied castles by Isma'ilists. The complex includes Shemiran castle, the grand tomb or Tomb of Sassan, Small Dome, Qasim Imamzadeh, Chahar Taqi building and the remains of two other ruined towers.
