Chehel Sotoon Mosque and School are located in the bazaar area (Bazaar Bala) on the southeast side of the Jama Mosque and School (Seyed Mosque) in the known alley called "Raaste Hojat al-Islam." This mosque is considered the second most prestigious religious school in Zanjan after the Jama Mosque and School.

Chehel Sotoon Mosque and School have large courtyards and prayer halls, with beautiful and symmetrical arches and wooden columns supported by 32 tall columns. The abundance and multitude of columns have made this religious and cultural structure widely known as the "Chehel Sotoon Mosque and School." It is one of the most important and famous religious schools of the Qajar period in Iran. According to the inscription installed on the entrance facade, this religious and historical building was constructed in 1284 AH (Hijri lunar calendar).

The spacious courtyards and prayer halls of this mosque indicate its spiritual flourishing and prosperity in the not-so-distant past. The interior of Chehel Sotoon Mosque and School is adorned with stucco, and its mihrab is decorated with tilework and motifs influenced by the Qajar era, featuring floral patterns and vase designs.
