Located in the north side of the abandoned village of Abakloo, in the Ziaa Abad District of Takestan city, Qez Qaleh is placed on top of a stone mountain overlooking the whole surrounding areas. The castle reaches to horrible precipices from three sides and its only accessible path is from south. The remained material of this castle is scarce so that it is impossible to recreate the overall plan of the building. The only things we can see today of the castle is the walls of a Cahahr Taqi (Four-Arch Construction) made of stone and Sarooj with a ruined arch. It is not clear to which part of the castle this structure is related. We can only estimate its probable place at the intersection of two connecting halls or at entrance of the building. The remained bases of the Chahar Taqi are enormous with a three-meter diameter. In addition to stone, brick has also been used in some parts of the castle; something similar to the way in which brick was used in Sassanid period.
