The tomb of Sheikh Azari is located south of Esfarayen city, a kilometer northeast of the historical city of Belqeys, amidst agricultural lands. The mausoleum is made of raw bricks while its ceiling is made of wood. The tomb of Sheikh Azari is about 80 centimeters higher than the ground and is covered with mosaics. Hamza bin Ali Azari, known as Sheikh Azari, is reputed as one of the poets and mystics of the 9th century AH who was born in Esfarayen. After a while working as a poet in the court of the Timurid Shahrokh, he turned to mysticism and wrote many books on poetry and mysticism. The Sheikh Azari Mausoleum, which is considered one of the tourist attractions of Esfarayen, is composed of two architecturally different spaces with different dimensions. The southern part of the building is used as a prayer hall and the northern part is the burial place and mausoleum of Sheikh Azari.
