Joushin Castle, also known as Joushon, is located 26 kilometers west of Varzaghan, six kilometers from the village of Joushin, and 30 kilometers west of Kharvana in the heart of the historic region of Dizmara Arasbaran. It is situated between the villages of Gal and Joushin, with the ancient city of Kharvana at its center, in a rugged mountainous area atop a high mountain.

The castle is built on a mountain with steep slopes on three sides, making it nearly impossible to climb. Only a narrow mountainous path, accessible by one or two people at a time, leads to the castle. Inside the castle, rooms constructed with stone and lime mortar and plaster have been arranged for inhabitants to live on the mountain. There are also small reservoirs for water storage on the mountainside, remnants of which still exist. Pottery fragments found on the slopes of Joushin Castle date back to the Achaemenid era up to the sixth century AD.
