Malayer is a historical city where there are nearly 120 historical houses remained of Qajar period each with a lot of unique characteristics. Lotfalian House and Museum is a two-storey building placed in Shahid Mostafa Khomeini Street in Malayer. With an almost 120-meter build-up area, the house was constructed at the same time as Fathali Shah rule. The first owner of the house was a person named Mohsen Mosaddeqi, known as Mosaddeq al-Mamalek.

The history of the museum backs to Qajar (18th and 19th centuries). The original founder and owner of the house was the late Mohsen Mosaddeqi, better reputed as Mosaddeq al-Mamalek. Due to his kinship relationship with the king, he ordered the building to be constructed in three sectors of Andaruni, Hosseinieh and Stables, with the help of the most experienced and skillful architects of his own time. The current house used to be the Hossenieh of the complex which was later bought by Morteza Khan Lotfalian being turned into a residential place. The house was built in two floors in a way that the ceiling of the ground floor is fully decorated with beautiful brick arches and the ceiling of the upper floor is flat, covered with wooden boards. The most beautiful part of the house is the spring house with amazing four-part brick arcades.

The house and museum of Lotfalian includes two yards: Andaruni and Biruni. It has also an awesome alcove with Sash doors and windows as well as colorful glasses. The distinctive feature of the house and museum of Lotfalian is its basement which is called spring house, where there is a pleasant atmosphere specially for spending warm days of summers because of its stone pool and the flowing water of Qanat. The house was changed into the Museum of Culture and History of Malayer in 2004 after doing some restoration. Objects belonged to the historical and Islamic periods are on display in the museum, taking a visiting to which can make you familiar with the culture and art of people in this land. The house and museum of Lotfalian is now the place of the office of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, too.
