Being the burial place of Owais al-Qarani according to the locals, Sultan Veys Mausoleum is placed on a mountain overlooking the Aloulak Road in the north of Qazvin. Owais al-Qarani lived at the same time as the prophet of Islam. He was Amer’s son, belonged to Bani Morad tribe, from Tabeieh and from Yemen. He did not live at the same time as the prophet lived, but he was one of the companions of Imam Ali in the Battle of Siffin and it is stated that he was finally martyred in the same battle. The main building of the mausoleum is based on an octagonal shape constructed of riprap combined with calcareous sand mortar. The length of the external sides are three meters and the internal ones are two meters. Internal sides each includes an arcade leading to a stucco Karbandi, in a way that the octagon needs to change into a circle in order to connect to the dome. The alter is placed on the southern side and it has no decoration but a simple Muqarnas. The entrance of the mausoleum is placed on the east side and includes a pointed arch.
The attached building is also constructed of stone connecting to the south of the mausoleum. The building is rectangular in shape having a corridor along with the central space with a column in the center. The coverage of this part is stone worked as a vault. Concerning the architectural style, it can be belonged to the sixth century A.H. The remarkable point about the construction of the building is the difficulty of transporting the materials and water from the depth of the valley which was quite far from the location of the mausoleum showing a lot of efforts.
