Chelgerd City is the center of Kuhrang County in Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari Province located in 88km of Shahr-e Kord, the capital city of Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari. 

Chelgerd has been located in the limited area of Zagros mountains embracing a beautiful nature. high peaks have surrounded this city some of which have more than 4000meters height.

Kuhrang fountain is the main attraction of Chelgerd located in 30km of this city. This fountain originates from Zard-kuh hillsides and reaches finally the lake of Kuhrang Dam.

Chama ice cave is another natural attraction 25km far from this city. The place of this cave is between Chelgerd city and Sar Agha Seyed village. The village is itself one of the tourism attractions of this city. It is placed in one of the most remote regions of Kuhrang city. Sar Agha Seyed village has still maintained its historic texture and the stairway architectural style of its old houses is the main features of this village.  Located in the center of Lorestan province, this village is 45km far from Chelgerd.

Sheikh Ali Khan waterfall is close to a village with the same name. This waterfall is turned into a collection of Qandils in winters where a wonderful landscape is made by the combination of the water, ice Qandils, and snow.

Dimeh spring is another promenade of Chelgerd located in 12km of this city. Being lush and the provision of the sufficient amenities in the neighborhood of the spring has made it one of the popular regions of Bakhtiari tribes and nomads and tourists, as well.

The plain of reversed tulips in 12km of Chelgerd is one of the other tourism attractions of this city located in the neighborhood of a village namely Banuastaki. Reversed tulip is one of the national natural attractions of Iran which is grown in the span of Zagros mountains.

Chelgerd ski piste is a recreational-tourism region in this city. This piste is among the best-known ski pistes of Zagros mountains established in 1354 S.H.

Different kinds of loom and nomadic handwoven like Jajim, kilim and Khorjin are among the handicrafts of Chelgerd city and Kuhrang county, in addition to the local clothes. Local plants and vegetables, dairy products, local honey and medicinal plants are other souvenirs of Chelgerd.
