The Post and Telecommunication Museum (Persian: موزه پست, [muze-ye post]) is one of the tourist attractions located on Bagh Melli Street, which is located near the Gate of National Garden in Tehran city. Bagh Melli Street is one of the most attractive places in Tehran. You can visit a series of historical tourist attractions by walking through it.
The Post and Telecommunication Museum is one of the most beautiful government buildings, turned into a museum in 1990.
The construction date of this building dates back to 1307. Nikolai Markov was the architect of this building. Markov also designed the other attractions, including the Qasr Prison and several schools, including Alborz High School and the new Dār al-Funun school. The Post and Telecommunication Museum is a part of the main building adjacent to the Gate of the National Garden.
This museum consists of different sections. Stamp laminating hall is one of the sections of this museum. In this part of the museum, stamps signed by the officials and celebrities related to each field are laminated and maintained. In another section of the museum, pictures of the ministers of post, telegraph, and telephone are displayed.
In another section of the Post and Telecommunication Museum, you can visit various stamps, from the Qajar era (1789-1925) to the Islamic Republic. A book of stamps from foreign countries is also on display at the museum.
Another interesting section of the museum is dedicated to the display of old communication tools. The telecommunications hall is another part of the Post and Telecommunication Museum where you can visit the evolution of communication devices, from Morse and telegraph machines to teletype faxes and telephone and the satellite of Venus. In addition to the main parts of the traditional teahouse and shop, the Post and Telecommunication Museum is ready to host visitors.
The Post and Telecommunication Museum is located in Imam Khomeini Square, Imam Khomeini Street, next to the Gate of National Garden.
